SHIVKHOLA RIVERSIDE CAMPING IS A HAPPENING PLACE. This is A destination place dedicated in the name of Lord Shiva. This is a place which has got a perfect blend of being very well-connected to nature’s lap but not exactly in between the woods. A temple on the banks of the river is believed to be built by Lord Shiva is also situated at this place.

Riverside camping is done especially during holidays and New Year time. But it is done almost throughout the year. Except for rainy season

Shivkhola picturesque tourist destination in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal. Folia Adventure Camp is simply heaven for those who love to stay close to nature and away from the concrete jungle. There is a small stream adding more beauty to this beautiful hilly village. An ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is located on the bank of the river. The Shivkhola village is situated in a lush green valley at a distance of 1 km from the temple.

Day 1:
The day starts around 3:00 PM onwards welcomed with tea/coffee/snacks. Dinner at night with a tent and sleeping bags. Bonfire and musical night with BBQ(cost extra for chicken). Wine (extra cost). One can take cycling in the hills with additional cost.

Morning bed tea followed with breakfast. Checkout time till 10:00 AM.

HOW TO REACH FOLIA ADVENTURE CAMP

Shivakhola is somewhat 27KM from Siliguri surrounded by Tea Gardens. It will hardly takes 2 – 2.5 hours driving distance to reach Shivakhola from Siliguri. While you are heading towards this beautiful village, you may come across some city traffic but once you cross that you actually enter into the gorgeous forest in Sukna. Sukna is located at just 15 minutes driving distance from Siliguri, from that spot you need to take a turn towards the right, this route would head towards Sukna Railway Station (Toy Train).

After crossing the Sukna Railway Station now you are in Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary. This road will take you to Rongtong, i.e. about 18 km from Siliguri. The road between Sukna to Rongtong is one the most picturesque roads in the country. It’s a great treat for your eyes, and perfect journey to open up your mind. It will take approx 45 minutes to reach Rongtong.
The road towards Shivkhola will take a sharp U-turn from Rongtong. At around 7 kilometers uphill road, steep downhill would start which would takes you to a popular temple. According to mythological beliefs, this temple was originated by Lord Shiva. The name “Shivkhola” has come from Lord Shiva and the small stream which flows through the valley.

The wide range of wild birds attracts the bird watchers and wildlife photographer to Shivkhola. As Shivkhola surrounded by Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary, you may witness many wild animals and birds. There are plenty of birds you can see in Shivkhola.
